Roethlisberger Suspended By Goodell, NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been suspended for six games by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Even though Roethlisberger has not been convicted of a crime, Goodell, in a letter sent to the quarterback, said that league players are held to a higher standard. In that letter, Goodell told Roethlisberger in part, referring to an alleged incident in Milledgeville, Georgia where a female accused Roethlisberger of forcing himself on her, that "there is nothing about your conduct in Milledgeville that can be remotely described as admirable, responsible, or consistent with either the values of the league or the expectations of our fans." more...
